A 12-hour endurance Lawn Mower Race takes place in the English village of Five Oaks, one of the key events in the lawn mower racing calendar. It makes for a well-mowed race course. Forty- three teams lined up for the highlight of the lawn mower event of the year in West Sussex, the annual 12-hour endurance race, with the winning entry completing 415 laps of the 1.41-kilometre circuit. The race was started by Model Jodie Kidd at 8 pm on Saturday when she lowered the flag to the delight of the 1,000 plus race goers who came along to see the spectacle. For the fourth time in succession, “Northerners Kick Grass”: Mark Rostron, James Pawley and veteran racer Darren “Daz” Whitehead, were the winning team this year.
