Watch | NASA video shows Arctic Sea ice melt

A new NASA animation video shows the changes in Arctic sea levels from March through August this year. This year's melt season started at a fast pace as a record low cover registered in March continued to rapidly decrease through May. Yet by June the process slowed, meaning the chances of a new minimum summertime sea ice extent record are highly unlikely this year, NASA said. Although the sea ice probably won't reach a record low, it is still in continuous decline with no signs of recovery, said NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center sea ice scientist Walt Meier. The ice cover is unlikely to reach its yearly minimum until mid-to-late September, NASA says
