Korea staged its biggest-ever nationwide earthquake drill, simulating a magnitude 6.8 quake, in the wake of two recent strong tremors which rocked the country. Led by the Ministry of Public Safety and Security, nearly 90,000 people including personnel from the fire department, police, military and local governments participated in the evacuation exercise. The drill involved large-scale explosions, fires, gas leaks, car crashes and road and building collapses.
