EgyptAir flight MS181 hijacked: Here’s everything you need to know

An Egypt Air flight MS181 with 81 passengers on board was hijacked and diverted to Cyprus on Tuesday. The passenger flight MS181 was originally travelling from Alexandria to Cairo. At 8:30 am (noon IST), a hijacker contacted the control tower and was given permission to land at Larnaca airport at 8:50am (12:20 pm IST). Soon after, all passengers except the cabin crew and five foreigners were released. Reports also suggested that Egyptair flight MS181 hijacker identified as Ibrahim Samaha is asking for a translator and asylum.
