Members of the Algerian Civil Defence were trying to rescue a cat stuck at the top of a lamp post in Ain El Turk, Algeria on Monday (May 9) when it ignored them and gracefully walked off on a powerline.It didn't take long before it realised the error of its ways and slipped off the line. Several attempts to get back on left it hanging upside down and going no where.The willful firefighter team rose to the challenge and laid out a plastic sheet below as they waited for the inevitable. Then another firefighter finally pushed him off and the cat fell. Although the sheet split open, it cushioned the fall and the cat ran off.Saleh Wahran, the firefighter who filmed the acrobatic feline survivor, said residents told him the cat was stuck up the post for three days before they arrived.
