Even donkeys have their day in the rural Mexican town of Otumba. May 1 is celebrated as the annual day of the donkey and it's a tradition that begun around 60 years ago. Thousands turned out for the festival which was a twist on traditional Labour Day events honouring the worker throughout Latin America. Races and polo matches were featured as spectators fawned over donkeys dressed from head to hoof in costume.
