Watch | Trick to cut through glass with water, oil and heated blade

Video released by a filmmaker named Roman Ursuhack from Moldova showed how it is possible to make a clean cut in glass using only water, oil, and a heated knife. The glass jar is placed inside a metal bowl and the bowl is filled with water and droplets of oil. Ursu then heats a blade and places it in the water for a few seconds.

Tada! The glass has been cut clean at the level of the water in the bowl. Ursu says the glass reacts like this because of the temperature difference between the water and oil layers.
