Some users said they were still able to access limited services through automated phone systems, including locking and unlocking cards to complete purchases.
One user complained, "Chime is down in Ohio- but you CAN call the automated phone number and lock and unlock your card through the automated system to make purchases. I just had to do that to get home from work via Uber."
Another added, "I was just trying to do something and I got an error message telling me my acct was closed!!?! WHAT?! so i went to my app and that's all messed up too. I can see my balance but anything else says sorry try again later. ugh!!!"
A third user expressed, "App down for 30 minutes now with “try to refresh” error message which does nothing. Zero features functional. Including support. Needed to move money between accounts to buy groceries and now I can’t because of this outage. Pay has been hitting later and later lately as well. Thinking time to look elsewhere. Thinking keeping cash in the mattress was probably a good idea. This could happen again at any time and all of us Chime customers will be dead in the water again."
Another wrote, "I spammed the buttons to make my purchase but trust and believe I will be banking with others, 3rd time I’ve been inconvenienced in the past month."
A user added, "Tried to use the app to unlock my card so I could pay for my groceries and it will not let me in, it just keeps saying the page is not loading... Now I have to leave without my groceries because my card is locked, so frustrating!!!!"
