As the US House of Representatives passed the new spending bill with 222 votes in favor and 209 against, the bill now goes to Donald Trump. Once Trump signs it, it will officially end the longest government shutdown ever. The White House has announced that Trump will sign the bill at 9:45 p.m. tonight at the Oval Office.

The vote came after the US House of Representatives reconvened on Wednesday after the recess, since mid-September. It came amid the Senate's passing of the HR 5371 amendment on Monday to keep the US government funded till January 30, 2025.

The shutdown was sparked on September 30 by the disagreement between the Republicans and the Democrats over the inclusion of health-tax credits in the spending bill. Experts say that the health tax credits, which expire in December, will make health insurance expensive for millions of Americans.
The ice between the two sides broke on Sunday after eight Democrats Senators broke the line and supported an amendment to the originally proposed spending bill. In exchange, they have secured a guarantee on a discussion and resolution on the health tax credits it's expiration in December.
Who Voted How In Today's House Vote
Six Democratic House Representatives broke party ranks and voted in favor of the spending bill. On the other hand, three Republicans voted against it.
Democratic Reps. Jared Golden, Adam Gray, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, Don Davis, Henry Cuellar and Tom Suozzi were the six to vote in favor of it, despite most Democrats going against the bill.
Meanwhile, GOP's Thomas Massie and Greg Steube voted against.
