Who was Chandler ‘Chuck’ Hendry? Lehi car accident reportedly claims LDS apologist's life; tributes pour in

Chandler David Hendry, affectionately known as ‘Chuck’ was an apologist for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS). As per online claims, he was killed in a car accident in Lehi, Utah.

Hello Saints, a YouTube channel inviting conversations between LDS and evangelical Christians, noted Hendry's passing. “I am so deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Chandler Hendry from Restored Truth. He was an influential, up-and-coming voice in the LDS apologetics space. And though it was clear that he quite passionately disagreed with my beliefs, at the end of the day, he is a fellow image-bearer... and a son, brother, husband and friend to many. Praying for God's mercy and presence in the lives of those affected by this tragic loss,” they wrote.

On X, another members of LDS penned an emotional message. “I appreciate everything you did for the LDS online community and apologetic space. You’ve helped me and countless others in ways that are incalculable. You brought me into personal/private groups that I did not feel worthy of within the apologetic space that have helped me grow a ton. I will continue to grow and defend the faith," Troy Sariah wrote.

Hendry ran the Restored Truth online platform. As per his Facebook profile, he's from Midway, Utah, and lived in Meridian, Ohio.

It lists him as a Former Missionary at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and notes that Hendry went to Wasatch High School.

Hendry is married to AnaLynn Hudson Hendry. Fans of Hendry flocked to his wife's social media profile too, to express support. “I loved your husband and what he believed. Seriously please reach out if you need anything!,” one person wrote on a photo of the couple.

Chantry B Hendry, who is understood to be close to Chandler Hendry and often comments on his posts, also put up an emotional message on Facebook. “I am a child of God. Rich blessings are in store; If I but learn to do his will I’ll live with him once more,” he shared.

“Chandler is absolutely with Him once more and in full send. The work he will now accomplish on the other side, with Christ, will shake the very powers of hell. Oh how thankful I am for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and for the Restoration of the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ - HE LIVES! I will pick keep your mission moving forward while bonded to your soul here on earth, gather Israel and bring souls into Christ! The Christ who made it possible for me hug you again! I love you,” Chantry further said, adding “I will keep my eyes toward Heaven and my knees on the ground!”.

One person was killed in the car accident in Lehi, Utah. Three vehicles were involved in the crash. The incident took place on Friday morning.

As per reports, Lehi police were called to the intersection of Morning Vista Road and Timpanogos Highway at 8:25am. It remains unclear what led to the crash.

Reports indicated that one adult man was transported to the hospital and later declared deceased. While authorities have not identified Hendry as the victim, members of LDS and fans have noted his demise in the accident.

Fans flocked to Hendry's latest Instagram post to pay tributes.

The video posted two days back got several reactions amid the reports of Hendry's demise. “We are in shock. Thank you for you for all of the impact you made. I’d say “Rest in Peace” but I know you won’t be resting and you’ll get back to work on the other side,” one wrote.

Another added “I am so deeply sorry to hear about the loss of Chandler. Praying for his family and friends and the LDS content creator community.” Yet another said “We lost a good one. Keep doing the good work, brother.”
