According to officials, the accident occurred on Saturday when a minibus fell into the Nile river while trying to board a ferry to move from the eastern bank of the river to the western bank near a village in Minya governorate, about 220 km from Cairo.

Thirteen bodies have so far been recovered while three others were still missing, officials said.

The accident also left three others wounded.

This is the third major accident in Egypt in the last three days.

Thursday, a metro train derailed on the outskirts of Cairo, leaving at least 43 passengers injured.

Eight people were killed and 23 others injured on Friday when a bus collided head-on with another vehicle in Fayyum governorate, about 85 kms south of Cairo.
