A South Korean F-16 fighter jet crashed on Tuesday in the Yellow Sea, the defence ministry said, adding the pilot ejected safely before the crash.
"One F-16 air force jet crashed in the West Sea (Yellow Sea) at around 12:07pm (0307 GMT). The pilot escaped unharmed before the crash," a ministry spokesman said.

The cause of the accident was not immediately known, he added.
