Two more dengue deaths were reported in MP on Sunday, taking the toll to four.

A man in Simariya village of died on Sunday due to dengue while a similar case took place in Jabalpur where an old woman from Shahdol district died during treatment.

On Saturday, a death was confirmed at Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal. Another dengue death was reported from Raisen recently.

More than 280 people in the state have tested positive for dengue with 48 alone in Bhopal.

State health authorities and Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) do not get daily information of dengue patients and dengue deaths.

Director for Vector Borne Disease Control in Madhya Pradesh KL Sahu told HT, “I am just aware of one death in Raisen, rest I do not know. The total cases have reached to over 332.”

The anti-fogging campaign in the state capital has covered around 118 localities till now and fined only five houses. No other preventive measures, like distributing medicinal nets, are being followed.

PRECAUTIONS

Mosquito net is a must, as mosquitoes mainly breed in houses

Use a mosquito repellent

Full sleeves clothes should be worn as much as possible

Coolers or any other water storage containers should be emptied during monsoons

Getting rid of areas where mosquitoes breed, such as standing water in flower pots, containers and bird-baths
