Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while inaugurating the main campaign office of Bhopal mayoral candidate Alok Sharma at Malviya Nagar on Sunday, said Bhopal would be developed as a digital city.
Chouhan said there would be no shortage of funds for the development of the city. He asked BJP workers to campaign for the candidate and simultaneously enroll people in the ongoing membership drive.
He said Bhopal was earlier known as green city but from now onwards it would be known as digital city, smart city and global city. Chouhan said the state government had simplified a number of procedures for residents adding that building permission from municipal corporation would not be required for plots up to 2400 sq feet. He also said houses would be built for urban poor.
He said the state government would construct permanent houses for slum dwellers. The houses would come up at the same place where the slums exist.
While speaking about Sharma, Chouhan said he had made a name for himself while working as corporator. He said Sharma was the unanimous choice of senior party leaders and workers for the post of mayor. Chouhan also flagged off a campaign vehicle.
