Kaneria, who is facing a lifetime ban from cricket since 2012 for alleged spot fixing, came with his family members and a priest to perform the pooja in front of goddess Baglamukhi at the Peeth and Lord Shiva at Vankhandeshwar temple.

People believe that the presiding deity ends all kinds of troubles especially legal issues. In 2013, actor Sanjay Dutt had also offered a special pooja before going to jail.

Kaneria, who alleged discrimination for his being a minority Hindu in Pakistan, refused to talk to the media.
