Yuvraj Singh who until recently was known to be the most flamboyant, eligible bachelor in the Indian cricket team is all set to lose his ‘single status’. And happily so. Known to be extremely popular with women, Yuvraj took everyone by surprise when he announced his engagement to model-actor Hazel Keech. The two were dating for a while before Yuvi popped the question to Hazel in Bali while on a vacation in April, this year. Now, the two are gearing up for their December wedding and Yuvi is far from nervous. “I have been through a lot in life. I have seen everything and there comes a phase when you want to settle down. I want to get married and this is the right time,” he says.

While the two had a low-key engagement in Bali, Yuvi and Hazel were sure they wanted a big wedding. “You get married only once. We were always sure we wanted to invite everyone to the wedding. It will be a 3-4 day affair and we will have a couple of events to make sure all my cricketer friends get to attend, irrespective of their tight schedules,” Yuvi says. The wedding will have both Sikh and Hindu rituals as Hazel’s mom, who is based out of Mauritius, has Indian origins. The wedding functions will take place in Delhi and Chandigarh.
Yuvi also recently launched his own fashion label YouWeCan, that supports his initiative against cancer, YOUWECAN Foundation. The cricketer says that Hazel has stood by him throughout the journey. “Hazel is very vocal with feedback and is wholly supportive. In fact, her family is also very supportive of everything we do. It was a great feeling to have the blessings of the entire family when we decided to get married. Though her family is into football and cricket, Hazel has no interest in the game so thankfully, our conversations are never about sports,” Yuvi says.
