Many people plan their birthday celebrations days and months in advance. But actor Diana Penty isn’t one of them. The actor turns a year older on November 2, and surprisingly, she says that she will make plans after waking up on her birthday.
Talking about the special day, the actor laughs softly before sharing, “I don’t have any birthday plans, nor am I one of those [people] who start a countdown like five days or a week before. I am a chilled out person; I take life spontaneously. So, I will decide what can be done once I wake up. But yes, I will spend the day with my family for sure,” she says.
Although Diana confesses that she isn’t a birthday person, she never forgets to take full advantage of her special day. “Birthdays are days when you are treated in the most special way. And I make the most of it by doing what I like, travelling, spending time with family and friends, trying out a new restaurant… But what I love the most is on that day, I can shirk away from responsibilities and get away with it. And I start enjoying this freedom a day in advance. So when my mum tells me ‘Diana do this or do that’, I tell her that I am not doing anything, it’s my birthday tomorrow,” she laughs again.
Looking back, Diana remembers that her parents used to plan fun birthday parties when she was a child . “Kids in the neighbourhood used to come to my place, and enjoy playing games. When I see those pictures, I can’t control my laughter. It also makes me realise how much calmer I have become. And, that also makes me remember that a few years back my mum had gifted me the gold bracelet that belonged to my [maternal] grandmother and I will cherish the gift forever,” adds the actor, who has done films such as Cocktail (2012), Happy Bhag Jayegi (2016) and Lucknow Central.

{{/usCountry}}Diana shares her birthday with actor Shah Rukh Khan. “It’s like a birthday thunder stealer,” she jokes before adding, “On a serious note, it definitely feels special when you share your birthday with someone as successful as him. And since I am also a part of the industry, it inspires and motivates me to do well.”
Taking this opportunity Diana says she wants to wish SRK and adds, “Since it’s SRK’s special day as well, Happy Birthday SRK! Wishing you good health, happiness and limitless success! Here’s to many, many, many more years of entertaining us!”
