I professed my love for Varun Dhawan years ago: Shraddha Kapoor

Shraddha Kapoor had feelings for Varun Dhawan as a child; while shooting her next with him, she remembered how she asked him out once. Varun just said no.

Even though rumour mills suggest that Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur are in a relationship, the actor reveals that it was actually Varun Dhawan that she had a crush on several years ago.

Shraddha and Varun recently did ABCD 2 together, directed by Remo D’Souza. While shooting for a scene in the US, the actor remembered how she once had feelings for her co-actor. “We were shooting for a romantic song in a beautiful mountainous location, and suddenly, I burst out laughing when I remembered what had happened when I had professed my love to Varun years ago,” says Shraddha.

The actor reveals that her father (Shakti Kapoor; actor) and Varun’s father (David Dhawan; film-maker) have worked together in the past, and as children, they both often accompanied their parents on outdoor shoots.

On one of the schedules, Shraddha, who was just eight years old then, decided to tell Varun how she feels for him. “I was only eight, and I had a crush on Varun. So, I thought I should just tell him. I decided to say ‘I love you’ backwards. So, I told Varun that I am saying a sentence backwards, and he must listen carefully. Then I said ‘You – love – I’. I think it was too complicated for a little boy to understand because he gave me a stern ‘No’, and just ran away from there. It’s been a joke between us ever since,” says Shraddha.
