I will research on Vyapam scam: Prakash Jha

Said the producer-director Prakash Jha when asked about making a film on the issue. Jha is shooting for his seventh film Gangaajal – 2 in Bhopal.

The controversial issue that has swayed the political fraternity of the state as well as nation is seemed to be creeping into the film industry as well. A full-fledged commercial feature film might be on cards for eminent socio-political-thriller filmmaker Prakash Jha. Jha showed his interest on the same while interacting to media on Thursday along with the cast and crew of the film Gangaajal – 2 that is being shot extensively in Bhopal.

Prakash Jha, who has socio-political thrillers like Mrityudand, Gangaajal, Apharan, Chakravyuh, Rajneeti, Satyagraha, Aarakshan and many more to his credit, has always been inspired by the real-time social and political upheavals taking place across India. Since he has already shot six of his films in Bhopal, it was being expected that he would consider the Vyapam issue too. When asked the same, Jha said, “In the midst of this shoot, I haven’t got the time to know about the issue much but since it has shook the whole country now, I would go back and research on the subject and would know why and how did it all happen. I have a very close association with Bhopal now and I owe atleast this much to the place, that ill research about it. May be it serves as a good story for a film script. I have taken years on developing a single script. So I cannot tell when and how will it happen. A film is a set of several personal experiences for me, let’s see if this happens or not.”
