Abhishek Bachchan might have to wait to be a part of Angaar’s remake, as the makers of the original have denied selling the remake rights of Shashilal Nair’s 1992 movie. The buzz was that Amitabh Bachchan’s AB Corp was planning to get the rights for the remake of the movie, which was based on the underworld. Though Angaar bombed at the box office, the performance of the lead stars was highly appreciated.

While members of Abhishek Bachchan’s family banner thought that this film would do wonders to his career as he gave good performances in films to the tune of Sarkar, Nair says he won’t even think of the proposal. "I happen to be the film’s co-producer and I’ve no knowledge of any such plans of transaction. A software company Endemol was keen to remake Angaar and was chasing my office in Mumbai. But I am not too kicked by the idea of handing over the remake rights to anyone who asks for it," he says.
