Nushrat Bharucha shares why she’s happy working with the Pyaar Ka Punchnama team for the fourth time

In her upcoming film, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, actor Nushrat Bharucha will work with director Luv Ranjan and co-star Kartik Aryan for the fourth time.

She set foot in Bollywood with the 2006 film, Jai Santoshi Maa, but it was Love, Sex Aur Dhokha (2010) and subsequently Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011) that put the spotlight on Nushrat Bharucha. She joined hands with the PKP team for a sequel in 2015, and tasted success at the box-office.

For her next film, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, releasing on February 9, Nushrat has once again teamed up with the same team. And more than the quirky title for this unconventional love story, it’s the repeated collaboration with the team that’s caught everyone’s attention.

Asked why she ends up working with the same cast, Nushrat says, “The team that I have been working with for a lot of years has never disappointed me as an actor. So, I felt that this was the right structure for me to be a part of.”

However, Nushrat is quick to add that there’s no set formula for a film to work. “We can’t say whether a film will be a hit or flop. There’s something which just clicks with people. I don’t think anybody has been able to crack it, but with this team, together, we are able to touch that nerve of the audience,” adds Nushrat, who’s working with Kartik Aaryan for the fourth time.

In the film SKTKS, Nushrat’s character is rivals with Kartik’s character, who is worried for his friend — played by Sunny Singh — getting married to her. “We have this brilliant tongue-in-cheek banter in the film, because it’s all about one upping each other. You can only do it with someone you are friends with, because they won’t mind it. This is why you start enjoying the banter after a point of time. We had a lot of fun pulling each other’s leg. I loved it!,” quips Nushrat.
