Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone’s Tamasha earns Rs 24 cr in 2 days

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s Tamasha, directed by Imtiaz Ali, is going good at the BO with Rs 24 crore collections within two days of its release.

Imtiaz Ali’s latest entertainer Tamasha, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, has earned Rs 24.04 crore within two days of its release. The film was reportedly made at a budget of Rs 60 crore and the steady box office collection bodes well for it.

According to a statement by the film’s makers, the opening day collection of the movie amounted to Rs.10.87 crore while it collected Rs.13.17 crore on day two -- taking the two-day business to Rs.24.04 crore.

Talking of overseas business, the estimated overseas gross box office collection figure till Saturday night was Rs 18 crore. The film has a three-week box office window before the next big releases -- Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani -- come out.

Tamasha narrates a story of internal conflict. It is about two individuals, who meet while on a holiday and decide to make-pretend during the trip, but problems erupt when they return to their real life. Largely, the movie is the love saga of a storyteller who rediscover himself thanks to the woman he loves.

For Ranbir, the success of the film comes as a respite after three successive failures, while Deepika is now prepping up for her next big release, Bajirao Mastani.
