Saaho box office day 2: Brand Prabhas wins big, the film eyes ₹70 crore mark over the weekend

Saaho box office day 2: The Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer has made ₹25.20 crore in two days of the release.

Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor’s Saaho is going strong at the box office. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film’s day two performance was outstanding with brand Prabhas shining brightly. The film has made ₹25.20 crore.

Tweeting about it, he wrote: “#Saaho is outstanding on Day 2... Brand #Prabhas - who enjoys PAN India popularity - is attracting moviegoers in large numbers... Eyes ₹ 70 cr+ weekend, a fantastic 3-day total... Fri 24.40 cr, Sat 25.20 cr. Total: ₹ 49.60 cr Nett BOC. India biz. #Hindi version.” Clearly, Baahubali was not flash in the pan for Prabhas.

With these figures, Saaho also became the third highest opener in 2019 with Salman Khan’s Bharat and Akshay Kumar’s Mission Mangal ahead of the film directed by Sujeeth.

Despite all-round criticism, Prabhas had won hearts with his performance. Of special mention were its action scenes. But the film did induce a meme fest online with many making fun of it. The masses, however, seem to be loving the spectacle.

Trade experts had predicted an opening of ₹60 crore (all languages) for Saaho and ₹15-20 crore for the Hindi version. “The buzz is very good. Prabhas and Shraddha are among the top actors and the response to the trailer is outstanding. It is a non-festive but a very wide release in Hindi. A non-holiday opening of ₹15-20 crore would be fantastic, considering how some Bollywood actors struggle to deliver an opening of even ₹10 crore,” trade analyst Girish Johar told Hindustan Times.
