‘ShameOnKaranJohar’ trends on Twitter after he likes abusive tweet about Shah Rukh, SRK comes to defence

The explanation came after several Shah Rukh Khan fans started the #ShameOnKaranJohar trend on Twitter after he appeared to have liked an abusive tweet directed towards the actor. The hashtag was the number five trend across India on Friday with more than 50,000 tweets. Shah Rukh has since responded to the incident.

The tweet that he appeared to have liked compared the box office performance of Karan’s production and Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari with Shah Rukh’s Zero. It called Shah Rukh a ‘B-grade star’, comparison with whom would be an ‘insult’ for Akshay.

Shah Rukh’s fans were furious at Karan, calling him a fake friend to Shah Rukh and demanding that he apologises to him publicly. “Karan Johar a cruel snake I have ever seen,” wrote one. “Just remove SRK’s movies from cobra productions filmography and see where it actually stands,” wrote another.

Shah Rukh was quick to offer a defence of Karan. He wrote on Twitter, “I hate clarifications on SM. @karanjohar is technologically challenged but has other good qualities like his taste in clothes!?Just like Life, twitter doesn’t come with instructions, so mistakes r natural....& also he has fat fingers. Go easy all, Make Lov not War...it’s more fun.”
