Filmmaker Chandan Arora’s Striker that released this February has now been made available by Studio18 on YouTube for its Indian audiences.

The film was available to download and to stream off YouTube overseas from February 5, the day of its theatrical release. It was the first-ever Bollywood film that reached out to a wider audience in a cost-effective manner through the world’s largest online video sharing platform.

Hemant Bhardwaj, senior vice president, distribution marketing, Studio18, points out that the latest move was to gauge YouTube’s passive reach and audience viewing experience.

“Considering that the broadband revolution is around the corner in India, this step will help us gear up for the coming years. We are hoping to see decent traffic on Studio18’s channel on YouTube with viewers enjoying the movie in high definition quality at their convenience,” says Bhardwaj.
