Udta Punjab: When Shahid performed to a live audience

Actor Shahid Kapoor shot Chitta Ve, a song from Udta Punjab, in front of a live audience and the makers have now decided to include part of this footage in the film too.

Instant reactions from the audience made it easier for actor Shahid Kapoor to shoot a song for his upcoming film Udta Punjab, alongside actor Alia Bhatt. While shooting for the number Chitta Ve, Shahid had live audience cheering him.

“The song that was shot in Punjab and had the set up of a stage,where Shahid had to perform as a rockstar right at the centre. He was surrounded by the audience. The makers made sure to put in his real-life fans rather than extras,” says the actor’s spokesperson.

Within no time Shahid was surrounded by screams and cheers, says a source close to the actor. “Shahid was thrilled with the experience of shooting in front of his fans and was even encouraged by their reaction ,” says our source.

The makers have also included these reactions in the film. “The makers were keen to get firsthand reactions of the crowd. The footage is also included in the video of the song,” says the source.
