Upen Patel: I am single and it would be great if someone nice comes in my life

After his break-up with actor Karishma Tanna, Upen Patel is ready to shed his single status, only he comes across the right girl.

Actors Upen Patel and Karishma Tanna’s break-up shattered many hearts and fans heartily wished that the two got back together. However, it seems that Upen has happily moved on, and is now ready for a new start with someone else.

“I am single and I have always been open about my relationships. I have never kept anything hidden. I won’t say that right now I am only focusing on work. If anyone nice comes along in my life, it would be fantastic,” says Upen, who started dating Karishma during their stint on reality show Bigg Boss in 2014.

The couple, who dated for two years, parted ways on a bad note when reports about their nasty fights surfaced. Upen says he understands the interest people have in his love life.

“When you start rising and get popular, your personal life becomes public, and people have a lot of interest in knowing more about you. However, I don’t like to speak much about my personal life. An important film has just released and I want people to focus on that,” says Upen, whose film Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha has just hit the theatres.

“I can’t control what people think about me or who I should work with. What I can definitely control is what I say on a particular platform,” says the 34-year-old actor, who has also been a part of films such as Namastey London (2007) and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009).
