However, the writer has said that the book that comes two years after his bestselling Scion of Ikshvaku (2015), will “not exactly be a sequel as it takes you back to the beginning”.

“I have learnt many things, about our ancient stories and philosophies, the traditional way: through my family. My grandfather was a Pandit in Kashi. Both my parents are deeply religious,” said the author of the bestselling The Immortals of Meluha.

“Also, I read a lot. I read 4-5 books every month. And I’ve been reading at that pace for decades. I guess that’s how I’ve learnt much of the knowledge that goes into my books,” Tripathi said in an interactive Facebook Live session.
