Engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today reported a 50.59 % jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,028.30 crore for the first quarter ended June 30.

The company had posted net profit of Rs 682.81 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

Its total income in the quarter under review increased 9.89 % to Rs 24,374.64 crore, as against Rs 22,179.59 crore in the year-ago period, L&T said in a BSE filing.
Shares of the company closed 1.96 % lower at Rs 1,159.10 on BSE.
