Acknowledging India's strength as a delivery centre in the outsourcing model, IT and business services company Xansa India is scaling up local operations to increase its headcount to 4500 by 2004-05.
"By the end of this fiscal (2003-04), we will have a strength of 2100 and by 2004-05 we will touch a headcount of 4500 in our three software development centres in India spread across Chennai, Pune and Noida", Xansa India chairman Saurabh Srivastava told PTI.
Among the three centres, maximum expansion would take place at Chennai followed by Pune and Delhi, he said adding the Pune centre would be operational in May this year which has a capacity of 3000.
In Delhi, we will add only 300-400 professionals to the existing 1000 while the remaining capacity will be filled at Chennai and Pune, Srivastava said.
The Chennai centre has a capacity of 6000 and the 27-acre Chennai technology centre campus was inaugurated last year.
In 2001, Xansa Inc committed an investment of Rs 160 crore and the roadmap was to set up three major software development facilities in Noida, Chennai and Pune.

{{/usCountry}}Once the expansions at the three centres are completed, Xansa India will have a strength of about 10,500 in a single shift, making it one of the largest worldwide delivery centre of Xansa Inc, he said.
"Indian operations form a key element of Xansa's worldwide service provision. India is increasingly critical in the current market plans we are seeing through our client-led demand", he added.
