The change applies only to the Premium variant of the electric SUV, which now costs 50,000 more than before. The Performance variant continues at the same price, giving buyers a clear distinction between the two trims in terms of value and positioning.

In terms of performance, the two variants cater to slightly different expectations. The Performance version focuses on outright acceleration, delivering strong power and a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 4.5 seconds. The Premium variant, on the other hand, offers a more relaxed driving experience while still delivering healthy performance and a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 6.7 seconds and a longer claimed driving range of 482 km on a full charge.

BYD India has stated that the price adjustment is linked to ongoing investments in technology, safety, and customer experience. Since its introduction, the Sealion 7 has found over 2,300 buyers across the country, suggesting that demand for premium electric SUVs is steadily growing despite higher upfront costs.

Beyond pricing, the brand continues to expand its footprint in India, with a growing network of showrooms and service points across major cities. With no changes to the product or specifications, the Sealion 7 continues to remain one of the more well-rounded options in the premium electric SUV segment, even with the revised pricing now in place.
