BYD India has revised prices for the Sealion 7 in the Indian market, with the update coming into effect from January 1, 2026. The change applies only to the Premium variant of the electric SUV, which now costs ₹50,000 more than before. The Performance variant continues at the same price, giving buyers a clear distinction between the two trims in terms of value and positioning.

The Sealion 7 has been positioned as a premium electric SUV since its launch, and this update reflects the broader cost pressures seen across the EV space rather than any change to the product itself. Both variants continue to use the same 82.56 kWh battery pack and are built on BYD’s Cell-to-Body architecture, which integrates the battery into the structure of the vehicle for improved rigidity and safety.

The Performance version focuses on outright acceleration, delivering strong power and a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 4.5 seconds. The Premium variant, on the other hand, offers a more relaxed driving experience while still delivering healthy performance and a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 6.7 seconds and a longer claimed driving range of 482 km on a full charge.
BYD India has stated that the price adjustment is linked to ongoing investments in technology, safety, and customer experience. Since its introduction, the Sealion 7 has found over 2,300 buyers across the country, suggesting that demand for premium electric SUVs is steadily growing despite higher upfront costs.

With no changes to the product or specifications, the Sealion 7 continues to remain one of the more well-rounded options in the premium electric SUV segment, even with the revised pricing now in place.
