Mahindra will launch the facelift of the XUV700 on January 5th in the Indian market. It will be called XUV 7XO. The XUV700 has been a huge success for the brand, and now they want to build further upon it. A test mule of the XUV 7XO was spotted while it was on our Indian roads.
What modifications can we expect in the design of the Mahindra XUV 7XO?
The exterior of the XUV 7XO will showcase a revamped headlight arrangement. It will feature dual barrels akin to those found on the Scorpio N. These will remain LED headlamps, but Mahindra is choosing a projector setup this time. This change is anticipated to enhance the lighting. The Daytime Running Lamp will no longer extend downward; rather, it will take on a U-shape. The fog lamps have also been relocated and will present a new design.

A new grille will be introduced at the front, echoing the grille design of the XUV500. The bumper will also receive a redesign. On the sides, a fresh set of alloy wheels will be added, while the flush door handles and roof rails will be preserved. At the rear, the tail lamp design will be updated, similar to what we have observed on the recently launched XEV 9S.

What modifications can we expect in the interior of the Mahindra XUV 7XO?
The design of the XUV 7XO's interior will now be influenced by the XEV 9S. Consequently, one should expect it to include the same two-spoke steering wheel featuring a lit Mahindra logo and a three-screen setup, suggesting that the passenger will also have a dedicated display. However, the steering wheel will be slightly different as it will have tactile buttons. Furthermore, Mahindra might introduce Dolby Atmos, captain seats for the second row, along with a ventilation system, front parking sensors, and automatic parking, among various other improvements.
Last month, we conjectured that Mahindra filed a trademark application for the ‘XUV 7XO' name. This marks the second occasion on which the brand has rebranded one of its SUVs. Previously, Mahindra changed the name of the XUV300 to XUV 3XO. This is not an isolated incident; the brand has also filed trademark applications for the XUV 1XO and XUV 5XO nameplates. Consequently, it is plausible that new products featuring these names could be launched in the future.
