Nissan has officially confirmed that its upcoming mid-size SUV, the Nissan Tekton, will be unveiled in India on 4 February. The company has already offered a first look at the SUV through design sketches, and the February showcase is expected to reveal key details such as engine options, features, and the variant lineup. Pricing is likely to be announced closer to the end of the current financial year.

The Tekton is closely related to the next-generation Renault Duster, with both models expected to share the same underlying platform and mechanicals. While the two SUVs will be similar at their core, Nissan is expected to give the Tekton its own visual identity through a distinct front fascia, lighting elements, and interior styling.

For Nissan, the Tekton is a crucial product. The brand is looking at this SUV as a cornerstone for its revival in the Indian market, with a large share of future volumes expected to come from this segment. Nissan has also confirmed that the Tekton will be followed by a larger three-row D-segment SUV, which is scheduled to arrive in early 2027.

With demand steadily shifting towards well-equipped mid-size SUVs, this segment is set to become one of the biggest volume drivers in the Indian market over the next few years. Nissan is clearly positioning the Tekton to be part of that growth story, with its official reveal now just weeks away.

As of now, we do not know what will be the engine specifications of the Tekton. It is expected to get a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol unit that used to do duty on the Renault Duster. The lower variants could be powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine that we have already experienced on the Kiger.
