Skoda has confirmed the launch of a new product in India for January 2026 through an official invite. While the brand has not named the model, the upcoming launch is expected to be the mid-cycle facelift of the Kushaq compact SUV.
Camouflaged test mules of the updated Kushaq have been spotted testing on Indian roads multiple times over the past few months. The prototypes feature heavy camouflage at both the front and rear, indicating that the visual changes will be concentrated in these areas.
What to expect from the new Kushaq?
At the front, the Kushaq facelift is expected to receive a revised grille, along with a new bumper design. Updates to the headlamp units are also likely, though no major changes to their shape have been confirmed. Similar revisions are expected at the rear, where the SUV could get redesigned taillamps and a refreshed bumper.

Massive interior upgrade?
Interior updates are expected to be more substantial. Spy images suggest the addition of a 360-degree camera system and a panoramic sunroof, features not offered on the current Kushaq. The facelift is also likely to bring an updated digital instrument cluster and a refreshed touchscreen infotainment system.
Safety upgrades could also be part of the update. The Kushaq already carries a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, and the facelift may update its safety package further with the introduction of an ADAS suite, though this remains unconfirmed.

No mechanical changes
No mechanical changes are expected with the facelift. The SUV should continue with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 113 hp and 178 Nm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit producing 147 hp and 250 Nm is also expected to continue, currently offered only with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Once launched, the Kushaq facelift will continue to compete with models such as the Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and MG Astor.
