The rescued, Balkishan, Mohan and Manish, are about 13 years old. They worked at Raj Eatery’s booth number 7 and in the mess of hostel number 6 of the university.

According to the chairman of child welfare committee Neil Roberts, “We received a complaint two days ago about children being employed in the messes and shops.”

The children have been rescued and sent to Snehalaya, a home of destitute children.

“There is no proof to identify the ages of these children. We have asked the contractors to prove the children fall above the age set for working. If they fail to give any proof, we will issue a challan against them,” said Roberts.
