The medical report of the pathology department of Rajindra Government Medical College and Hospital in Patiala remains "inconclusive", thus deepening the mystery around the Fiza's death, estranged wife of former deputy chief minister of Haryana Chander Mohan.

A team led by the head of the department at Rajindra hospital, Dr Manjeet Singh Bal, along with associate professors Dr Anil Suri and Vijay Kumar have examined the heart samples, which were in a "highly decomposed" state.

Talking to HT over the phone from Patiala, Dr Bal said, "The tissues of Fiza's heart have been completely decomposed and we failed to find any symptoms of heart attack or blockage of blood circulation."

"We had received the ventricle of heart as sample on August 8. It was foul smelling and in highly decomposed state. We did not find any 'viable' tissue and thus we cannot comment on the cause leading to her death. The decomposition of the body has destroyed the heart," he added.

The police are now pinning their hopes on the viscera report that might throw some light on reasons leading to Fiza's mysterious death.
