An 18-year-old youth was stabbed to death over ₹1,000 in Mohali on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Anil Kumar, 18, a vegetable vendor. Police have arrested Rohit, 21, an employee of a courier company, for the murder.
As per the police, Rohit had borrowed ₹1,000 from Kumar.
The victim had left for a stroll after dinner when he met Rohit and the two sat down for a chat. When Kumar asked Rohit to return the money, a heated argument broke out during which the latter stabbed him in the neck with a kirch (sharp object).
“Both are migrants and had an argument over ₹1000. Anil was asking Rohit to return the money which he had been delaying for quite some time,” said superintendent of police (SP, city), Akashdeep Singh Aulakh. A case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Phase 1 police station, Mohali.
