Chandigarh police cracks whip on immigration firms operating without permit
The case was registered against the two officials running Jump Shot Overseas, Sector-36 D and The Admission Consultants in Sector 35 C. Earlier on Wednesday, Chandigarh police had booked 13 immigration firms for allegedly operating without licence and arrested seven persons during a special checking drive.
In wake of a spurt in complaints against immigration firms, Chandigarh police on Thursday booked two more firms that were operating without a licence and arrested two persons.
The case was registered against the two officials running Jump Shot Overseas, Sector-36 D and The Admission Consultants in Sector 35 C.
Earlier on Wednesday, police had booked 13 immigration firms for allegedly operating without licence and arrested seven persons during a special checking drive.
“During the special drive, 15 firms operating without permit were identified and nine people including the owners and managers of the firms were arrested under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code for violating the orders of district magistrate, UT, Chandigarh. The firms were found violating the government instructions that required them to obtain permits from the local administration and to register their credentials with the local police,” police said in its press communique.
Earlier, police booked GS Oakridge Visa Service in Sector 17-A, Carrier Venture Education Consultancy in Sector 17-A, White Hill Overseas Immigration in Sector 17A, Chicago Immigration Company in Sector 22-B, Red Star Immigration Company in Sector 22-B, Madhya Global Avenue Immigration in Sector 22, ASFM Consultancy in Phase-1 Industrial Area, Travel and Tips in City Emporium, Phase-1, Industrial Area, Federal Visa Company, Sector 34, Abroad Navigation, Piccadily Square Mall, Sector 34, Veracity Overseas in the said Mall in Sector 34, Flinsta Consultants in Sector 35-C and Advice Immigration in Sector 35-C. All the accused were released on bail.
