Ludhiana | 2 days after car dealer ‘shoots self’, family accuses police of cover up
Ludhiana police commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has marked an investigation to ADCP, investigation Jagatpreet Singh; the car dealer allegedly shot himself as he was being harassed by a cop
Two days after a car dealer allegedly shot himself, his family members accused the police of attempting a cover-up to save a cop whom he had accused of harassment.

Producing a video recording, purportedly shot by the victim moments before he shot himself, the victim’s father said that the police were trying to pass it off as a case of accidental firing, whereas the victim had attempted suicide.
He further said that the police did not discuss the matter with the family and had lodged an FIR claiming that the victim had suffered bullet injuries as the weapon went off while he was cleaning it.
Police commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has marked an investigation to additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP, investigation) Jagatpreet Singh.
Meanwhile, the victim’s condition continues to remain critical. According to doctors, there are little chances of survival.
Dugri station house officer (SHO), inspector Rajan Pal said police have recorded the statements of the victim’s father and will take appropriate action.
The inspector added that the victim, after shooting the video, had sent it to his live-in partner who further had called his mother and informed about it. Thereafter, the family rushed outside and saw him in a pool of blood in the car.
