A 22-year-old woman, who wanted to take revenge from her former employers for firing her, stole ₹92,000 and jewellery worth ₹20 lakh, from their home in Rajguru Nagar on March 10.

CCTV footage shows the accused, Anu of Mundian Khurd, a domestic help, entering the house and exiting it. She used keys to break into the safe, and decamped with cash and jewels. No one was home at the time as the family was at a hotel to celebrate the complainant Dr Parshant Aggarwal’s marriage anniversary.
The accused was arrested with the stolen cash and jewels while she was trying to flee the city.
The complainant, Dr Aggarwal, said that on March 10 their domestic help, Soni Singh, called him saying that she had seen an intruder in the house. He immediately rushed back and found that cash and jewellery had been stolen from the safe.
Sub-inspector Jaskanwal Singh Sekhon, station house officer at the Sarabha Nagar police station, said the accused had been working at the complainant’s house for three months before she was fired for not performing her duties properly.
“Anu knew where the family kept the keys of their safe, and also that they usually celebrated their anniversary at a hotel, so she decided to robe their house a year later on the day of their anniversary,” he said, adding that she had been unaware of the CCTV cameras.
