The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming Mohali Municipal Corporation elections on Friday, promising technology-driven governance, anti-corruption measures and major civic infrastructure upgrades if voted to power. The Shiromani Akali Dal also released its vision document, outlining its development roadmap while highlighting infrastructure works worth 2,500 crore carried out during the party’s tenure in Punjab.

Branded as “Our Sankalp”, the BJP’s manifesto outlines a 10-point roadmap focused on urban mobility, public safety, sanitation, water supply and flood management. A key promise is the release of a white paper within six months on “corruption and financial irregularities” during the previous Congress and AAP-led municipal administrations, backed by an independent audit committee.

The party has also pledged enclosed Material Recovery Facilities, bio-CNG units for waste processing, app-based Mohali shuttle services, improved freshwater supply in villages and upgraded community recreation spaces.

SAD vows better infra, services

Shiromani Akali Dal’s (SAD) district president Parvinder Singh Sohana recalled that the Akali government had undertaken landmark projects including the international airport, modern stadiums and expansion of key roads, helping transform Mohali into a fast-growing modern city.

The party’s manifesto promises improved infrastructure in newly developed sectors, improved canal water supply, better power infrastructure, upgraded roads and long-term solutions to key civic issues.

Sohana said the vision document is a practical blueprint aimed at shaping Mohali’s future growth with public support.
