HC seeks affidavit from health secy on Mohali 3B1 community health centre
As per plea, earlier a 30-bed hospital was built by upgrading the dispensary of Phase 3B1. However, the new government decided to convert it into a Liver and Biliary Institute, which is also not functioning now. The decision was taken despite protests from residents and till now, new CHC has not been established to cater to the needs of the locals, it was argued.
The Punjab and Haryana high court has sought an affidavit from the secretary, health, Punjab, regarding the status of the community health centre at Phase-3B1.
The order was passed in a public interest litigation by deputy mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi, in which he had demanded that the community health centre should not be shifted.
