Jalandhar: The sports goods manufacturers here on Wednesday urged the union government to take serious note of the black marketing and rise in prices of raw materials, which has led to a surge in the input cost of the products and huge financial losses for the industry.

In an emergency meeting held here, gym and fitness entrepreneurs of the sports industry expressed concern over the black marketing of iron and nickel which is affecting the sports business.

The manufacturers said that due to the rampant increase in the prices of raw materials, including Zinc and Ingot, the inputs cost of the goods has risen manifold, leading to huge financial losses for the industry.

Khel Udyog President Ravinder Dhir urged the central government to take serious note of the matter as they don’t expect any relief from the Punjab government.

He said that all the business organisations will have to come on one platform and raise their voice to save their business and industry.
