Actors, directors seek U.P. CM’s support to curb ‘Boycott Bollywood’ drive

The Uttar Pradesh government’s film policy and improved law and order situation in the state have attracted renowned Bollywood directors and actors who have sought chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s help in ending social media campaign ‘Boycott Bollywood’, said the state government on Monday.

Recently, chief minister Yogi Adityanath was on a two-day visit to Mumbai to seek investment and invite entrepreneurs for the Global Investors’ Summit to be held in Lucknow from February 10-12.

During his stay there, Yogi had also interacted with many Bollywood personalities. Actor Suniel Shetty had sought his help in curbing the ‘Boycott Bollywood’ trend. This appeal comes in the backdrop of boycott heat on Shah Rukh Khan -starrer movie ‘Pathaan’.

Directors also narrated their experiences of shooting their movies in Uttar Pradesh.

Producer-director Rahul Mittra praised Yogi Adityanath for not only willingly hearing the suggestions of all industry experts but also assuring to implement them.

Chief minister Yogi’s efforts to turn Uttar Pradesh into a ‘crime-free’ state were appreciated by many directors and actors, including Boney Kapoor, Sonu Nigam, Manoj Joshi and Rajkumar Santoshi among others. Lyricist, poet and screenwriter Manoj Muntashir attributed state’s all-around transformation to the CM’s leadership.
