Global Investors Summit in Lucknow: Musical soiree to give guests a taste of Uttar Pradesh’s cultural, spiritual heritage
500 prominent artistes to perform at cultural events that will be held every day during the three-day Global Investors Summit in Lucknow
Leading artistes of the country will perform at a musical soiree planned on the inaugural evening of the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit-2023 (UPGIS-2023) in Lucknow on February 10, a state government spokesperson said on Sunday.
Besides entertaining domestic and foreign investors, the musical soiree will acquaint the UPGIS guests to the state’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. The summit will continue till February 12.
Similar programmes will be held later on at the cultural pandal (enclosure) set up at the Tent City during the GIS and also at the end of various sectoral sessions. Around 500 artistes, including prominent ones will perform in these events, the spokesperson said.
Many artistes are being invited to the UPGIS, including prominent performers from Uttar Pradesh as well as Delhi and Mumbai. Among them, the names of Bhajan singer Hansraj Raghuvanshi and world-famous flautist Rakesh Chaurasia are noteworthy.
Hansraj Raghuvanshi, who belongs to Himachal Pradash, is best known for his devotional songs dedicated to Lord Shiva.The songs of Hansraj Raghuvanshi are a big hit on YouTube and are on everyone’s lips. His popular bhajans include: ‘Mera Bhola Hai Bhandari...’, ‘Shiv Kailasa Ke Vasi...’, ‘Shankara...’ and ‘Main Shiv Ka Shiv Mere…’ among others. He has performed in events across the country and abroad.
Rakesh Chaurasia, is the nephew of famous flute player Hari Prasad Chaurasia. He has gained fame in India and abroad for carrying forward his family’s artistic legacy. Rakesh Chaurasia, who hails from Prayagraj, UP, has performed in many cities of the world and has been honoured with many awards.
Mathura’s Vandana will perform ‘Phoolon Ki Holi’ along with Kathak artiste Akash Srivastava from Lucknow.The cultural programmes will also feature folk dances and music performances. The presentation of Bam Rasiya, Mayur, Rai, Diwari, Pidanda, Adivasi, Karma, Faruahi, Dhedhiyan, Natwari, Masak Bean, Dhobia, Badhawa folk dance, Damru Vadan and Tharu will be among the highlights of the programme.
Cultural events will be held everyday during the three-day summit. The names of 500 artistes who are expected to participate in the events are being finalised so that entry passes could be made for them.
The artistes will come to Lucknow on February 9. Governor Anandiben Patel, chief minister Yogi Adityanath as well as dignitaries and investors from all over the world are likely to attend the cultural programmes.
