Representatives of the trust and the State Bank of India participate in the process. The audit work continues for several days and the same exercise is currently underway, Rai said.

He added that nothing notable has come to light so far.

Champat Rai issued a statement to clarify the situation after news related to alleged irregularities in accounting of funds collected through donations from devotees visiting Ram Mandir did the rounds.

Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav wrote on X, expressing concern over the allegations.

He demanded that the court take suo motu cognizance of the matter. He also raised questions over the government’s silence and demanded an impartial investigation.
