Ghaziabad: A body of an unidentified man with severe head injuries was found along the National Highway (NH-09) near Dasna in Ghaziabad on Sunday morning.

According to the police, around 9.45 am, police were alerted by locals through emergency helpline number 112 that a body was lying inside the bushes along the NH-09 in Ghaziabad.
A team from Masuri police station reached the spot and called a forensic team. “The man’s face was partially disfigured, and a blood-soaked stone was found nearby. It is suspected that someone allegedly hit him repeatedly with the stone and fled the spot,” said Harendra Malik, station house officer, Masuri.
“The deceased, suspected to be aged around 40 years, was wearing a purple shirt and pants,” the SHO said, adding that no documents were recovered from the spot.
Police have alerted all police stations in the city and surrounding districts to check missing persons complaints and circulated his photographs, mentioning his appearance, said officials.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
“CCTV cameras in the nearby area are being scanned, and a case will be registered after receiving the autopsy report,” the SHO said, adding that further investigation is underway.
