NOIDA:The Gautam Budh Nagar district’s food safety department has stepped up surveillance of milk and dairy products, collecting three samples of paneer (cottage cheese) and khoya from a dairy outlet and wholesale sellers in Noida on Tuesday, officials said on Wednesday.

The samples have been sent to a laboratory to check whether they meet the prescribed food safety and quality standards. The reports are awaited and officials have not reported any adulteration or violation in the samples so far.
Food safety teams collected one sample each of paneer and khoya from a dairy outlet in Sector 45. Another collected a paneer sample from a seller at Zodiac Amrapali Market in Sector 120, officials said.
“Samples are being collected to ensure availability of pure and quality milk and milk products to the public,” said Sarvesh Mishra, assistant commissioner (food), Food Safety and Drug Administration, Gautam Budh Nagar.
Officials said further action, if required, would be taken based on the laboratory reports.
The department’s latest action comes amid increased surveillance of the quality of milk and milk products being sold in the district, they added.
