New Delhi: At least two men were killed, and another was injured in two separate road accidents between Saturday evening and Sunday morning, police said.

In the first road accident, a 19-year-old man was killed, and his 22-year-old friend was injured after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by an unknown truck at Indraprastha (IP) flyover near the ITO in central Delhi on Sunday morning.

Sharing the details, deputy commissioner of police (Central) Rohit Rajbir Singh said that around 6.21am on Sunday, the IP Estate police station received a call about a road accident on the IP flyover.

A police team reached the spot and found a motorcycle lying in a damaged condition and two people seriously injured. They were rushed to Sushruta Trauma Centre, where one of them was declared dead on arrival. Police identified him as Aman, a resident of Madanpur Khadar in south Delhi. The injured person was identified as Alber, a resident of Batla House in Jamia Nagar in south Delhi.

“During the inquiry, it was learnt that Aman was riding the motorcycle and Alber was on the pillion seat. While proceeding towards Sarai Kale Khan, their motorcycle was allegedly hit by an unknown truck at the IP flyover,” said the DCP.

In another accident that took place on Saturday evening in the Mangolpuri area, a 35-year-old e-rickshaw driver was killed after his vehicle collided with a mini commercial tempo.

Police identified the deceased as Jitender Rathore. He was driving the vehicle, and his relative, Kalu, was also present in the e-rickshaw at the time of the crash.

Police impounded the tempo, and its driver is absconding. A case of rash driving and death by negligence has been registered, police said.

“My cousin is survived by his wife and three children,” his relative said.
