A 20-year-old woman from West Bengal was allegedly gang-raped in Bihar’s West Champaran district on Tuesday, police said, adding that they have arrested two accused in connection with the incident.

Police said the woman is a professional dancer working for an orchestra.
Police said they registered a first information report based on the woman’s complaint. According to the woman, the incident took place in the Sathi area on late Tuesday evening when she was returning with her orchestra troupe after a performance from Pujaha.

Uday Kumar, station house officer, Sathi police station, said that they have arrested two accused in connection with the incident, and the search for others is on.
After interrogation, a case was registered against six named and other unknown accused under sections 376 (rape), 376 (d), 341 and 342, among other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, said Kumar.
